PROFILE
Dakuku Adol Peterside (DAP) Ph.D who has earned a reputation as turnaround Management expert and leadership strategist was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari as the Director General / CEO of NIMASA on the 10th of March, 2016. He previously served in the House of Representatives representing Andoni – Opobo/ NKORO Federal Constituency and committee chairman of the Strategic Petroleum Resources (Downstream) committee charged with oversight function over the management of the key driver of Nigeria’s economy (Petroleum Industry).
Prior to being elected to the House of Representatives, DAP served twice as the Commissioner for works (2007-2011) in Rivers state, where he is renowned to have judiciously executed the administration’s vision of transforming the state’s infrastructure landscape. His stellar record of public service spans from being a Special Assistant to the Rivers state governor to being a Local Government chairman of Opobo-Nkoro Local Government Area where he was easily adjudged the most outstanding chairman in the state by various state and international agencies. He also served concurrently on the Board of a number of Federal Government agencies. DAP a prolific writer is well published and makes regular contributions to public discourse on topical issues.
In 2015, burdened by a commitment to his people and nudged by the desire for a greater Rivers state, he ran on the platform of the country’s ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the office of the Executive Governor of the state.
A native of Biriye, Opobo Kingdom. DAP earned a Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Sciences ( Hematology) from the University of Science and Technology, Port Harcourt , an MBA from the same University and a PhD from the University of Port Harcourt. He is also an alumnus of Kellogg School of Management, Georgia state University Atlanta and Harvard-Kennedy school, Harvard University. His wife, Elima, is a practicing lawyer and they are blessed with three children, Soba, Belema and Miebi
